I have worked in early childhood music education for the past 12 years in a variety of settings in NZ and the UK and in international schools in Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates. I have a music degree from Victoria University and have completed short courses in the Kodály, Orff, and Dalcroze methods of teaching music. I recently completed a PhD in early childhood music education. My research explored the spontaneous singing of three- and four-year-olds at home. You can watch an animated presentation of my findings here.
My teaching is influenced by traditional methods, inspirational teachers I have met, and the latest research in early childhood music education. My programmes are very flexible, as I aim to be responsive to the specific needs of the children in each class.
